Over the past number of years, we at St Cronan's have been very fortunate to have
a number of distinguished guests visit our school.
On 18th June 2001, St Cronan's welcomed Minister for Education, Michael Woods
and a number of other dignitaries to the official opening of the new school building.
In June 2004, we welcomed Irish International Rugby Star Reggie Corrigan
as part of the Junior Achievement Programme.
In June 2005, the boys from 6th Class welcomed the famed author Marita Conlon-McKenna,
who wrote the novel "Under The Hawthorn Tree" based on the Famine in Ireland.
In 2006, the boys in 4th Class followed the progress of Paul Gleeson and Tori Holmes
as they rowed across the Atlantic to raise funds for Concern.

In June 2006, St. Cronan's welcome the President and Lady President of the GAA
Nicky Brennan and Geraldine Giles to the school.
In February 2007, the All-Ireland Hurling Champions gave us a chance to see
the Liam MacCarthy Cup up close and personal !
In May 2007, the famed African artist Starry Mwambwe returned to our school
to continue his Mural Art-work with the boys in 6th Class.
In June 2007, the recently elected TD for Wicklow, Joe Behan paid us a visit,
and gave us an insight into life in politics.
In 2008, the Chinese Ambassador to Ireland, his excellency Mr Liu Biwei,
and famed Aboriginal leader Mr Patrick Dodson both visted our school.
